Lesna to Hevlin

Wednesday August 24.  Lesna to Hevlin. 56km. Total 2050km

Lesna to Hevlin.

The morning was a challenge with navigation.  I used the file sent from esterbauer to get a map for the garmin, but when we went to use it, it used straight lines between points.  At times it meant we were supposed to be riding through fields. After only 7km we realised we needed to get it sorted.

Spent an hour at a coffee spot, but without internet so it was difficult.  We finally just used the garmin to find a route to Laa an der Thaya in Austria.  And as usual, it turned out to be interesting but spectacular.
We had some huge ups and downs and spent time riding along a ridge where the river below did a huge U turn.

See the river way below

We ended up in the Moravian wine growing area and came across a place in the middle of nowhere to taste some wines.

This was the one we bought for dinner tonight

After another huge descent we came to the bridge across the river at the apex of the bend.
Then, yet again, there was huge uphill.
The little white speck in the middle is Dermot's head coming up from the big climb.
We decided to stay in Czech rather than continuing to Laa an der Thaya, about 7km away over the border.  It would give us a chance to spend our last kroner.
Had a really nice meal with our bottle of wine.
