Kaliningrad to Gdansk by bus

Saturday Aug 6.  Kaliningrad to Gdansk.  Ride out to campsite.  9km.  Total 1189km.

We decided to get a taxi back into the centre of Kaliningrad to get a bus to Gdansk.  Fortunately our taxi driver was extremely helpful, as very few people in Kaliningrad seem to speak English.

We had to wait until the bus arrived to see whether he would take our bikes.  It was only a small bus, but by taking the front wheels off we managed to get them on.  Also paid the driver 10 euro.
Glad to be on the bus as it was pouring rain again outside.

The border crossing from Russia into Poland took over an hour.  Everyone off the bus for the Russian stamp. Back on the bus then off again for the Polish check and stamp.
Had a really helpful guy Marek beside us on the bus.  He tried to find us accommodation in Gdansk but fully booked out as there's a festival on, so a 10km ride out to the campsite.  It was jammed with people, and it started raining again!  It was so big, that we got lost finding our way back to our tent!
