Bratislava

Saturday/Sunday August 27/28
Two rest days in Bratislava

We're in bit of a Bratislavian heat wave.  About 32 deg today.
The AirBnB we're staying in is a bit challenging.  Katerina is very nice, but talks a lot and sometimes we only understand half of it.  We're also staying in her living room and there isn't really anywhere private for us.  Fortunately she'd gone to church this morning so we had the place to ourselves for a bit.

The town centre of Bratislava is very small.  Some nice buildings about, but also some very ordinary ones.

Where's Dermi

We saw a photo of the Danube when it was in flood - height of about 10m.  They've put flood protection on top of the wall along the river now, but I don't think it's been tested.

Some of the sculptures in/on the streets
One of Napolean's soldiers

This guys head's been knocked off by vehicles 3 times, so now has a roadworks sign next to it
We spent part of the afternoon sitting in the shade in the president's garden, then ate at a nearby restaurant.
Dermot trying some Slivovice
