Tuesday July 26. 35km Total distance 733km. (Note that everything gets translated into the language of wherever I am, then back into English, so some of the phrasing ends up a bit strange!!)
Vidha provided us with a western breakfast today – waffles
with jam and cream. A bit easier to take
for breakfast after the Indian breakfasts she’s been providing!
Got our washing done and dried, then packed up the bikes and
headed back to Tommy’s favourite café – Petite Paris. Navigation through the city with the Garmin
is fairly easy and takes us on quiet roads and great bike tracks which
Stockholm is full of.
After some lunch we headed to Djurgarden Island and had a
ride around it. Very nice to have a
large natural space so close to the city.
Apparently it’s the King’s garden but he lets everyone use it.
Time for an icecream.

Arrived at the ferry about 4.
A hassle getting our bike bags up to our room with the narrow corridors. The ferry is full of people whose main aim seems to be to drink lots and buy duty free alcohol and chocolates. I think most of them are doing a cruise from Stockholm to Tallinn, spend the day in Tallinn, then return to Stockholm the next night. It takes about 4 hours to finally leave the islands out from Stockholm.
The quiet and dark of the ferry gives us a great
night’s sleep. This far north darkness
only lasts for about 2 hours.
