A day in Prague

Friday August 19.  A day in Prague.
Headed off to a bike shop first thing to leave our bikes there to be serviced, then took the tram into the city and joined a 2 hour bike tour of the city.

David Cerny has some great sculptures throughout the town.
The artist has never provided an explanation of his work.  They are pissing on an outline of Czech.

Some of the other great sights:

This one was on the way in on the tram.

 The opera house
Charles bridge

The John Lennon wall - during communist days, activists posted messages on the wall, but they were constantly removed.  When Lennon was assassinated, someone did a drawing of him, and since then it's been known at the John Lennon wall.
Some communist architecture.

Statue of Czech composer Antonin Dvorak

Finished the day with a beer at the Joseph Stallin Bar overlooking the city.  Apparently there was a statue of Stallin that was pulled down by the communists when they were wanting to distance themselves from Stallin.  These days, there's a giant metronome on the site.
