Sighisoura to Cartisoura 84km Total 2711km
We had a change of plan today. Intially we were going to ride from Sighisoura directly to Brasov, but the Transfagarasan was within a day's ride, so why not.
We got away from our AirBnB at around 9am. Almost a record. But we had over 80km to ride so we needed to get away early.
The riding was on really good quiet roads all day.
Today was our first encounter with the dogs protecting their sheep. We came around a corner and immediately had about 5 big angry dogs barking at our heels. They would have made a mess of us if we hadn't got away. Dermot used water from his drink bottle to try and scare them off, but in the process dropped it. Fortunately a farmer came along on his tractor and acted as a shield to allow Dermot to get back to pick it up. The mountain bike riders we came across a couple of days ago had pepper spray. Perhaps we'll have to get some.

The pension we're staying at in Cartisoura is really nice. We have the upstairs to ourselves, with a balcony looking out to the Transfagarasan hills.
