Ic Condor to Marisel

Monday Sept 5
Ic Condor to Marisel.  64km (with 1300m of climbing). Total 2427km

Woke up to an cold, overcast morning.  The sun finally came out about 11.  Where we were staying was in the bush and had some running water, so we took the opportunity to clean the chains on the bikes.
It seemed we were a bit of a novelty - the first Australians they'd had stay so they wanted some photos with us.

More bucolic country that we're riding through.

One of the many dogs we see wandering along.  They all seem friendly though.
We stopped to check out a cave along the way, but somehow I deleted the photo.  Then had a big climb up to about 1250m before a huge descent on nice smooth road down to Racitelle at 800m.  Stopped for a coffee and lunch and met this lovely lady doing a PhD in tourism.

She recommended a way we should go towards Cluj which would avoid Huedin and a very busy road between there and Cluj.  It turned out to be a huge day though with climbs up to 17%.  Some fantastic views though.  The first climb was 500m back up to over 1300m then ups and downs with the last climb 200m on gravel.

We went the wrong way a couple of times, and it rained! Fortunately not much.  Eventually arrived at a beautiful pension in Marisel and had a great meal.
The view out of our window
