Volos to Athens by bus
Well, it's sort of a bit of an anti-climax getting to Athens by bus, but at least we got here. We've traveled about 4,000 kms by bike and a similar amount by bus/train. It really has been a fantastic trip, and it isn't over yet. We've got 3 weeks to enjoy Athens and some of the Greek Islands.
It was raining for most of the bus trip, so we were pretty glad not to be on the bikes. Somehow along the way we've avoided the rain. I think we've only had about 5 days!
We arrived in Athens about 6pm and had an easy couple of km ride to our AirBnB. Had to carry the bikes up 4 flights of stairs, but worth it as it's a really nice place we have for the next 5 days.
Our first task will be to find a bike shop with bike boxes to pack the bikes away and store them until we fly out, while we explore Greece a bit more. We'll probably send a bit of stuff home by post. Then we'll be off to explore this ancient place.
