Istanbul - Galata Tower, colourful streets, the Blue Mosque and Cistern Basilica

Monday Oct 3 & Tuesday Oct 4

Having a base to stay in Istanbul has been fantastic.  We've been using it to rest, and go exploring this amazing city.

Galata Tower

Caught the bus in from Kaylee's - travels along the Bosphorus and takes about 40min to get into the main part of old/new (that's still old) Istanbul.  The instability in Turkey has caused a huge reduction in tourists, which is definitely to our advantage.  No waiting to climb the tower.  Great views all around at the top.

Here's some streets around the Galata tower.

Lots of colourful sites in the streets and markets

Blue Mosque - Sultan Ahmed Mosque

How's this for an impressive entry!
